NORDIC LOOK RIGA 2008, 4 - 5 NOVEMBER

The NORDIC LOOK Riga 2008 conference REGIONAL COMPETITIVENESS AND SUSTAINABLE FASHION, Cooperate Regionally – Act Globally will take place 4-5 November during the RIGA FASHION WEEK. On November 4, 2008 at the Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation, Palasta iela 4, and on November 5, 2008 at the Riga City Council, Ratslaukums 1.

NORDIC LOOK Riga 2008 conference REGIONAL COMPETITIVENESS AND SUSTAINABLE FASHION, Cooperate Regionally – Act Globally inviting representatives from educational institutions, individual designers and brands, entrepreneurs, production companies, branch organisations and distributors, as well as politicians and other decision makers who support a flourishing of design, fashion and textile industry in the Nordic and Baltic countries and North West Russia. We are offering a new forum and opportunity to meet with colleagues, new potential clients and partners, to get inspiration and to discuss how to strengthen your individual and our region’s competitiveness on the global market. With issues of competitiveness and collaboration at its focus the event will help to confront the challenges and see opportunities of today’s global market.   

The Conference and workshops will deal with issues such as Sustainable Fashion – what are the world trends and how can one become a sustainable designer and/or producer, can there be a globally competitive Nordic-Baltic Fashion and Textile Industry Cluster, Sustainable Fashion – a global trademark for the Baltic Sea Region Fashion and Textile industry.

Conference will offer 4 workshops:

NICE – Nordic Initiative Clean and Ethical - a Project for the Nordic Fashion Industry, moderated by Pål Vasbotten, Oslo Fashion Week, Norway,

Corporate Social Responsibility in the Fashion Industry, moderated by professor Mette Morsing, Center for Corporate Values and Responsibility, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark,

Becoming a Sustainable Fashion Company - from Vision to Concrete Actions, moderated by Kicki AtKisson, Forum For Design & Sustainable Enterprise (FDSE), Sweden,

Sustainable Production in the Baltic Sea Region – Challenges and Opportunities, moderated by Sverker Bergström, Criterium, Sweden.
